Sir Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill, the British statesman that served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice, including during the Second World War,  was a prolific writer. His output included a novel, two biographies, three volumes of memoirs, several histories, and numerous press articles. In recognition of his ‘mastery of historical and biographical description’ and his oratorial output, Churchill received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953.

A Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist, Mucha lived in Paris during the Art Nouveau period, best known for his distinctly stylised and decorative theatrical posters and advertisements, which became among the best-known images of the period.
