The French philosopher, novelist, dramatist and political activist Albert Camus was the recipient of the 1957 Nobel Prize in Literature. His landmark masterpieces of modernist literature include ‘The Stranger’, ‘The Plague’, ‘The Myth of Sisyphus’ and ‘The Rebel’.  Our forthcoming edition will feature the most complete works in English ever assembled for this important author.

Gerrit Dou

A student of Rembrandt, Gerrit Dou was a Dutch Golden Age painter, whose small, highly polished paintings are typical of the Leiden fijnschilders. He specialised in genre scenes and was noted for his trompe-l’œil paintings and candlelit night-scenes, employing strong chiaroscuro. Our upcoming monograph will provide the complete paintings and essential reading for all lovers of Baroque art.
